Classes for 2024-25 will take place every Thursday from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Beginners are always welcome.  No partners are needed.

Park in the church parking lot.  We dance in the gym on the first floor.                                                                                         

When class must be cancelled due to inclement weather or an unforeseeable event, members will be notified by email asap, sometimes late in the day.  A cancellation notice will be posted on this website and on our Facebook page.

COVID-19 Policy: Current protocols do not require COVID screening or proof of vaccination. Masks are optional and we do ask that you refrain from attending if you are feeling unwell. Take care, stay well and follow the guidelines from public health officials.

November 14, 2024

We enjoyed another fun-filled class with many participants and learned some new dances including Neidpath Castle (S3x32) 3C set; The Lady Wynd (J8x32) 3C (4C set); and Mrs. Stewart of Fish Hoek (S3x32) 3C set. In addition, we practiced several familiar dances: The Reel of the Royal Scots (R8x32) 3C (4C set); The Irish Rover (R8x32) 3C (4C set), The Montgomeries’ Rant (R8x32) 3C (4C set); and Culla Bay (S4x32) Square Set.

November 7, 2024

With a large group of dancers this week we enjoyed practicing our steps and learning several new dances. These included Miss Gibson’s Strathspey (S8x32) 3C (4C set); Salute to Ann Arbor (R8x32) 3C (4C set); More Bees A-Dancing (R8x32) 3C (4C set); Invercauld’s Reel (S8x32) 3C (4C set); and The Falkirk Lass (S8x32) 3C (4C set).

October 31, 2024 – No Class

October 24, 2024

While we had a very small class this week, we managed to challenge our skills with four new dances in preparation for upcoming events. These included The Hobgoblin (J8x32) 2C (4C Set); Starsigns (32J for 5 dancers in a pentagonal set), The Falkirk Lass (S8x32) 3C (4C set), and Clutha (R4x48) Square Set.

October 10, 2024

Having recovered from the lovely “Advanced and Retired Tea Dance”, we turned toward dances on the program for the Ann Arbor 2024 “Happy Hour” Ball. We learned a few new dances including The Dillsburg Jig (J8x32) 3C (4C set), and Blue Bonnets J8x32) 2C (4C set). We also practiced The Montgomeries’ Rant R8x32) 3C (4C set), Culla Bay (S4x32) Square Set, and The Spirit of the Dance (S8x32) 3C (4C set).

October 3, 2024

This was our last class to prepare for the upcoming Advanced and Retired Tea Dance in honor of our four new septuagenarians. We perfected our figures while practicing Sunshine and Sweetie’s Jig (J8x32) 3C (4C set), Farewell to Balfour Road, J1x96) 5C set; The Spirit of the Dance (S8x32) 3C (4C set), The Irish Rover (R8x32) 3C (4C set), Bonnie Stronshiray (S8x32) 3C (4C set), and Pelorus Jack (J8x32) 3C (4C set).

We continued to practice dances for the upcoming birthday dance program – Advanced and Retired Tea Dance on October 6. This week we danced: City of Belfast (S3x32) 3C set, The Irish Rover (R8x32) 3C (4C set), Culla Bay (S4x32) Square Set, A Trip to Bavaria (R4x32) 4C set, and The Spirit of the Dance (S8x32) 3C (4C set).

September 12, 2024

We continued to welcome back returning dancers and improved our skills by building on dances learned last week. We also practiced a few dances that will be performed by the Demonstration Team this fall. Dances included The Silver Tassie (S8x32) 3C (4C set), The Irish Rover (R8x32) 3C (4C set), The Reel of the 51st Division (R8x32) 3C (4C set), The Reel of the Royal Scots (R8x32) 3C (4C set), The Hospitality Circle (J32) Round The Room, and everyone’s favorite – A Trip to Bavaria (R4x32) 4C set.

September 5, 2024

Classes have resumed for the 2024-25 season and the first class was filled with fun & frolic as new and returning dancers shared adventures from their summer vacations and got back into the swing of Scottish Country Dancing. We warmed up with an easy dance to start, The Deil Amang the Tailors (R8x32) 3C (4C set), and then really got going with Balgeddie Reel (R5x32) 5C set. We danced several old favorites, including The Reel of the Royal Scots (R8x32) 3C (4C set), Silver Tassie (S8x32) 3C (4C set), and The Reel of the 51st Division (R8x32) 3C (4C set).

Windsor RSCDS Tea Dance – Sunday, November 24, 2024

Dancing Around The World — November 23, 2024

Join the RSCDS on Saturday, November 23 as dancers in every corner of the globe enjoy dances from around the world. Taking dancers on a journey from Scotland around the world and back, the program features 12 dances with connections to six continents through devisers, themes, and locations, before bringing everyone together with The Homecoming Dance.
